Vietnamese President and Communist Party General Secretary Tô Lâm will visit Denmark from 19–21 October, with green solutions, health, food and trade among the main themes.

He and his wife, Ngô Phương Ly, will travel at the invitation of King Frederik X and Queen Mary. Ministers, senior officials and a Vietnamese business delegation will accompany them, Denmark’s Royal House announced on 1 October.

Green cooperation and business ties

The visit marks 55 years of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Vietnam. Around 150 Danish companies operate in Vietnam, according to the Royal House.

The two countries established a Green Strategic Partnership in 2023, building on their Comprehensive Partnership from 2013.

King Frederik and Queen Mary will host a state banquet at Christiansborg Palace on 19 October. The final programme will be published later.
