Sweden and Cambodia discuss stronger trade and sustainability cooperation

Sweden and Cambodia have discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation, trade and sustainable development during a meeting in Phnom Penh.

Cambodia’s Secretary of State for Commerce, Tekreth Kamrang, met with Swedish Ambassador to Cambodia Anna Hammargren to review bilateral relations and explore new opportunities for cooperation.Swede

Both sides welcomed continued growth in trade between the two countries and exchanged views on economic development. Discussions included Sweden’s support for Cambodia’s preparations to graduate from the United Nations’ Least Developed Country category.

The meeting also focused on digital transformation and e-commerce, with both parties highlighting the role of technology and innovation in improving business competitiveness and supporting economic growth.

In addition, the two sides discussed market diversification, strengthening Cambodia’s manufacturing sector, promoting sustainable investment and advancing green economy initiatives.

Both Cambodia and Sweden agreed to continue exploring new partnerships aimed at supporting sustainable economic development and closer commercial ties.
