Sweden and Thailand to hold high-level dialogue on freer and greener trade

Aiming to strengthen bilateral trade relations and navigate rising global protectionism, the Embassy of Sweden and the Thai Ministry of Commerce will co-host the Sweden–Thailand Trade Dialogue: Freer, Cleaner & Smarter Trade in an Era of Rising Protectionism on Monday 26 May 2025 at the Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok.

The event is organized in partnership with the National Board of Trade of Sweden and will bring together government representatives and trade experts to explore evidence-based trade policies that promote sustainability, digitalization, and services-led economic growth.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Swedish Ambassador Anna Hammargren and Ratchawit Piyapramote, Inspector-General at Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, followed by a keynote speech from Anders Ahnlid, Director-General of the National Board of Trade Sweden.

Panel discussions will address: Green and clean trade and EU regulations, Sustainable trade partnerships through the Open Trade Gate Sweden, and Unlocking the potential of trade in services to support productivity and integration.

Speakers from both countries include policy advisors, trade officers, and directors from key government departments, with moderation by Agnès Courades Allebeck, Director for EU Trade Policy at the National Board of Trade Sweden. The dialogue will be conducted in English with Thai interpretation available.

Registration is open until 19 May 2025. Programme and registration link
