On 23 July, Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam Kari Kahiluoto received the “For the Cause of Natural Resources and Environment” insignia in recognition of his contribution to the sector, media Vietnam Plus reports. The insignia was presented by Vietnam’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Tran Hong Ha during a ceremony held in Hanoi.

Vietnam Plus reports that Minister Tran Hong Ha congratulated Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto for successfully completing his term of office in Vietnam and thanked the Embassy of Finland for their active support to Vietnam in the field of natural resources and environment, especially in circular economy promotion, solid waste management, air quality, clean water, and environmental sanitation.

According to the Minister, Vietnam and Finland have close cooperation, and the bilateral cooperation between the two nations will only become stronger in the future.

During the event, Ambassador Kari Kahiluoto expressed his honor to receive the insignia and highly appreciated the close cooperation and support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and Vietnamese partners in implementing and applying Finnish technology solutions in several fields including environmental protection, circular economy development and climate change adaptation for long-term sustainable development in Vietnam.

Furthermore, the Ambassador stated that Finland is always proud to accompany Vietnam in the first essential areas such as clean water supply, environmental sanitation, and forest protection and management across the country.
