Chinese Ambassador to Norway Hou Yue has bid farewell to Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide as she prepares to conclude her diplomatic posting in Oslo.
The farewell meeting took place on 15 July.
During the meeting, Hou thanked Eide and Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting both her work and the Chinese Embassy throughout her tenure.
According to the Chinese Embassy, Hou said political trust between China and Norway had continued to grow through joint efforts. She also highlighted progress in the countries’ Green Transition Dialogue and close communication on international and regional affairs.
Hou said China looks forward to continuing cooperation with Norway. She added that both sides should implement the consensus reached by their national leaders and further strengthen bilateral relations.
Eide thanked Hou for her contribution to China–Norway relations during her time in Norway.
He said the bilateral relationship had maintained positive momentum despite international turbulence.
The Norwegian foreign minister also said Norway is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China across a wide range of fields.
He highlighted cooperation on global challenges, including climate change. He said such cooperation could also contribute to world peace and human well-being.
