The Danish Consulate General in Shanghai has joined the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China (DCCC) for visits to Danish companies operating in Jiaxing, highlighting the continued presence of Danish businesses in eastern China.

Consul General Jens Alsbirk participated in the visits, which included Danish-owned furniture company Trayton Group and industrial technology company Danfoss.

At Trayton Group, founder and CEO Simon Lichtenberg presented the company’s furniture design and manufacturing operations. Discussions also covered the company’s expansion of its NEST retail stores in China and its ambition to move towards net-zero production at its Jiaxing site.

The delegation also visited Danfoss in Haiyan, where discussions focused on the company’s long-term commitment to the Chinese market and the role of green technology in more sustainable manufacturing.

Supporting Danish companies in China
The visits form part of the Danish diplomatic mission’s engagement with Danish businesses in China.

Through regular contact with companies and organisations such as DCCC, the consulate seeks to understand the opportunities and challenges facing Danish businesses and strengthen connections with China’s business community.

The visits also provided an opportunity for Danish representatives to discuss developments in China’s business environment directly with companies operating in the country.
