Iben Bernstorf Schrøder and her family received a welcome from 45 guests at a Halloween bingo night at the Danish Seamen’s Church in Singapore on Saturday, 31 October.

The church and the Danish Business Association of Singapore (DABS) organised the dinner and bingo night. It was the church’s first bingo evening with Schrøder, who took up her post as port chaplain on 1 September.

A chaplain for residents and visiting seafarers

Schrøder previously served as a parish priest in Mørkhøj, Denmark. Now she serves Danes living in Singapore and Danish seafarers who call at the port.

The bingo night took place at Golden Bell Mansion on Pender Road, where the church also holds services and community events.
