A Filipino Christmas tradition has found a new home in Billund, where LEGO senior model designer Lee Magpili has recreated the iconic Filipino parol entirely from LEGO bricks.

The creation is currently on display at the LEGO House Masterpiece Gallery, where it will remain until 31 December 2026.

For Magpili, the project is a personal way of bringing a piece of the Philippines to Denmark. His creation combines the traditional star-shaped parol with details inspired by Filipino life, including a jeepney, sampaguita flowers, Filipino food and a family scene.

The parol is a familiar symbol of Christmas in the Philippines, where the holiday season traditionally begins as early as September. It is associated with hope, light and the Filipino Christmas spirit.

Magpili, who works as a senior model designer at LEGO, said the creation was intended to give Filipinos visiting LEGO House “a little taste of home” while also introducing others to Filipino Christmas traditions.

The project was highlighted by the Philippine Embassy in Denmark, which described the creation as a celebration of Filipino Christmas “one brick at a time.”

The parol is on display at LEGO House in Billund from 23 September through 31 December 2026.
