Finnish government writes new law for foreign berry pickers

A new legislation by the Finnish Government aims to improve the legal status of foreign berry pickers coming to pick berries in the high season. It includes an absolute ban on charging pickers for recruitment services and training.

Also, operators should be reliable, paying their taxes and charges properly.

The legislation is planned to come into effect before the start of this year’s harvest season.
