Four Malaysian nationals involved in a deadly bus crash in Norway have been confirmed safe with minor injuries, according to Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The incident occurred Thursday when a tourist bus carrying 58 passengers veered off the road in stormy weather, ending up partially submerged in a lake on Norway’s northwestern coast. Three passengers lost their lives.

The Malaysians are staying at Thon Hotel in Lofoten after being relocated to a crisis center. Due to ongoing investigations, they currently have no access to phones or external communication, Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

The Malaysian embassy in Stockholm is coordinating with Norwegian authorities to assist the affected individuals and identify any other Malaysians involved. Severe winter conditions and the remote crash site, 1,500 kilometers from Oslo, are complicating rescue and support efforts.

The Foreign Ministry is monitoring the situation and will provide updates as new details emerge.
