A bus carrying tourists from Singapore and China collided with a minibus in Finland on Dec 19, leaving several injured. The accident, near Rovaniemi and close to Santa Claus Village, occurred during poor road conditions caused by snowfall.
Two people in the minibus—its driver and a passenger—died at the scene. Finnish police reported that 37 others, including 29 tourists, a tour manager, and the bus driver, were taken to the hospital. All sustained minor injuries and were discharged after precautionary checks.
The group was on a 13-day trip organized by Chan Brothers — a Singaporean travel agency. The crash happened when the minibus attempted to overtake another vehicle. Finnish authorities are investigating and suspect the minibus driver of traffic violations and negligent homicide.
Chan Brothers praised their driver for minimizing the collision’s impact and stressed the importance of seatbelt use and travel insurance. The tour resumed as planned.
