Hong Kong drops mask ban

Hong Kong will drop the ban on wearing a mask in public as of Wednesday, the head of the city’s local government, John Lee said on Tuesday.

The face mask is the city’s last remaining action against the coronavirus.

“I am announcing that the face mask mandate will be completely removed as of March 1, both indoors, outdoors and on public transport,” Lee said at a short press conference on Tuesday.
