Nordic Embassies and Pasig City sign MOU to support circular economy transition

The Nordic Embassies in the Philippines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pasig City to assist the local government in transitioning to a circular economy.

Danish Ambassador Franz-Michael Mellbin, Finnish Ambassador Saija Nurminen, Norwegian Ambassador Christian Halaas Lyster, and Swedish Ambassador Harald Fries joined Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto at the Danish Residence to formalize the agreement.

This initiative, supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers and The Nordic Council, aims to share Nordic expertise and technology with Pasig City. The collaborative project will focus on promoting social behavioral change, as well as advancing gender inclusivity in the city’s circular economy programs.

The Nordic Embassies praised Pasig City’s leadership in sustainability and look forward to collaborating with the city as a model for circular economy practices in the Philippines.
