Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok temporarily closed after earthquake

The Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok announced on 2 April 2025 that it has suspended its appointment system and temporarily closed to visitors following the strong earthquakes that struck Bangkok on Friday 28 March 2025.

According to the embassy, the closure is due to uncertainty about when it can safely reopen its premises. No specific damage has been reported to the UBC II Building — where the embassy is located on the 18th floor.

The embassy said that those with cancelled appointments will be contacted to reschedule. New appointment requests must be submitted directly by email to [email protected], including full name, date of birth, and purpose of the visit.

Additionally, all requests for confirmation of pension income must now be sent by post, with an expected processing time of two to three weeks from the date of receipt.

The public is advised to follow updates on the embassy’s official website and Facebook page, where updated checklists and procedures are available.
