The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Hanoi has welcomed Marianne Knæverlsrud as its new First Secretary.
Knæverlsrud has a background in political economy and risk management. She previously worked at Norway’s embassies in Dhaka and Beirut, as well as at Microsoft and PGI Intelligence.
This is her first posting in Vietnam. She joins the embassy as Norway and Vietnam mark 55 years of diplomatic relations in 2026.
In a statement shared by the embassy, Knæverlsrud said she was excited to begin her new role in Hanoi and looked forward to contributing to the growing partnership between Norway and Vietnam.
She also expressed enthusiasm about exploring the country, experiencing its culture and meeting its people.
