Maritime technology companies Pelagus, SeaTech Solutions International, Lita Ocean and Pascal Technologies received innovation awards at the Singapore–Norway Innovation Conference (SNIC) on 4 November 2026.
The awards recognised solutions aimed at improving maritime supply chains and developing more energy-efficient electric vessels.
The seventh edition of SNIC took place at Amara Singapore under the theme From Seabed to Space: Governing Tomorrow’s Oceans. As previously reported by ScandAsia, the conference focused on innovation and cooperation across the ocean industries.
Pelagus recognised for digital maritime supply chains
Pelagus received the SNIC Innovation Award 2026 for its approach to sourcing critical maritime spare parts.
The company combines digital technology, advanced manufacturing and an industry network to help vessel operators obtain replacement components.
According to the Norwegian Business Association Singapore (NBAS), the solution can reduce vessel downtime, strengthen supply chains and support more sustainable maritime operations.
NBAS also highlighted the company’s growing adoption among equipment manufacturers and customers internationally.
Norwegian technology powers electric vessel partnership
The Singapore–Norway Partnership Award went to SeaTech Solutions International (SSI), Lita Ocean and Norwegian company Pascal Technologies.
The three companies are collaborating on a fully electric passenger vessel that will be the first in Asia to use Pascal Technologies’ AirHull technology.
The Norwegian system reduces resistance between the vessel’s hull and the water, allowing it to operate more efficiently.
According to NBAS, the technology can reduce energy consumption by 30–50 percent.
The partnership combines Singaporean shipbuilding expertise with Norwegian maritime technology to develop more energy-efficient passenger transport.
Singapore and Norway strengthen maritime cooperation
The awards formed part of a wider conference bringing together business leaders, government representatives and researchers from both countries.
Singapore’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development, Alvin Tan, attended as guest of honour.
In a video message to conference participants, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre emphasised that cooperation between Singapore and Norway could help shape both future technologies and the principles governing them.
The conference covered maritime cybersecurity, satellite connectivity, autonomous operations, artificial intelligence and the energy transition.
The Norwegian Business Association Singapore organised the event alongside the Norwegian Embassy, Innovation Norway and other partners.
