Pereric Hogberg, Ambassador of Sweden to Vietnam, launched a photo competition highlighting gender equality in Vietnam on Monday 6 March 2017.
In connection to the International Women’s Day on March 8th, the Embassy of Sweden in Hanoi, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Women’s Museum is launching a national contest searching for families showing good examples of gender equality.
The aim of the contest is to acknowledge and emphasize the importance of shared responsibility for family and domestic life in the ambition to increase gender equality in the Vietnamese society.
Last year the Embassy of Sweden, together with the Ministry also arranged a similar contest with the theme “Vietnamese Dads” as a spin-off of the photo exhibition “Swedish Dads” shown on the walls of the embassy compound. This year they want to use the same approach, but widen the concept to involve the whole family.
