Swedish community celebrates Midsummer in Bangkok

Thai-Swedish Chamber of commerce thanks members of the Swedish community in Thailand for gathering in Bangkok this weekend, as the Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Swedish National Day and Midsummer Luncheon.

The celebration took place at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit and brought together chamber members, business partners, families and friends.

Guests took part in several traditional midsummer activities, including flower crown making, maypole dancing and Swedish summer songs. The programme also featured a midsummer buffet, a Swedish-Thai trivia competition and a raffle.

Midsummer is one of Sweden’s most important cultural celebrations. The tradition is typically marked with flower crowns, dancing around a maypole and gatherings with family and friends.

The annual Bangkok event has become a fixture for many Swedes living in Thailand. It offers a chance to celebrate Swedish traditions while connecting with the wider Thai-Swedish community.

The Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce thanked sponsors and partners for supporting this year’s event and helping bring the celebration to life.
