Truls Möregårdh delivered an impressive performance at the ITTF World Cup in Macao, advancing to the quarterfinals after a dominant win, SVT Sport reports.

The Swedish player defeated Germany’s Patrick Franziska in straight sets, 4-0. Despite falling behind 3-9 in the opening set, Möregårdh fought back to take it 13-11, setting the tone for the rest of the match.

One particular shot left commentators stunned.

“I’m speechless. I haven’t seen a more impressive ball than that in the entire World Cup. He’s special,” an ITTF commentator said.

From there, Möregårdh controlled the match, winning the next sets 11-5, 11-7 and 11-4.

In the quarterfinals, there will be a big meeting when the Swedish world number two faces the Japanese Sora Matsushima, ranked eighth in the world.

“It will be a difficult opponent. He has played fantastically recently. I will try to beat him. I really want to win a medal in this tournament”, says Möregårdh.
