A.P. Møller Holding, the Danish investment company that owns A.P. Moller – Maersk, is expanding its presence in Asia as it looks to invest in promising startups across the region.

The company has established a new office in Asia as part of efforts to identify investment opportunities in emerging companies and technologies, according to The Malaysian Reserve.

The move reflects growing interest from major Nordic investment groups in Asia’s startup ecosystem, particularly as the region develops rapidly across technology, logistics and other industries.

A.P. Møller Holding manages the A.P. Moller Group’s investments outside its shipping business and has increasingly built a portfolio spanning different sectors.

The new Asian presence will allow the Danish group to develop closer relationships with entrepreneurs and investors in the region and identify potential investments at an earlier stage.

For Southeast Asia, the move adds another major Danish investor to a region that has attracted increasing Nordic business interest in recent years.
