Danish Afrobeat artist JJ Paulo to perform in Thailand

Danish-Tanzanian artist JJ Paulo, known for his style of Afrobeats, is coming to Thailand.

Danish-Tanzanian Afrobeat artist JJ Paulo is set to perform in Thailand this month with four appearances in Chiang Mai and Bangkok.

The concerts were announced by the Danish Embassy in Thailand, which invited audiences to experience the artist’s energetic blend of Afrobeat, African rhythms and electronic sounds.

JJ Paulo will perform at Melia Chiang Mai on 12 June before appearing at Bangkok World Music Day 2026 at One Bangkok on 13 June. He will then play at Clutch Bangkok on 16 June and Buddha & Pals on 18 June.

Born to Tanzanian roots and based in Denmark, JJ Paulo has built a growing international reputation by combining modern Afrobeat with elements of Sukuma culture from Tanzania.

The artist has performed at major festivals including Roskilde Festival, Eurosonic Festival and Smukfest. His music has also been featured by outlets such as MTV Africa and KEXP.

In 2023, JJ Paulo was awarded Concert Experience of the Year at the Danish Music Awards Roots. The same year, he performed more than 75 concerts across Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Tanzania, the United Kingdom and Iceland.

According to his biography, the artist aims to build bridges between cultures through music and promote African culture to international audiences.

His Thailand performances will give local audiences the chance to experience one of Denmark’s emerging Afrobeat acts as the genre continues to grow in popularity worldwide.
