IKEA Philippines launches membership program

The Philippines’ first IKEA store will launch its membership program, “IKEA Family,” on 7 July to reach, inspire, and support members in creating their dream homes.

The Swedish furniture giant’s Family club has more than 150 million members globally. IKEA Philippines is looking to add another 100,000 members to that list within the first twenty-four hours of the launch.

SM Prime Holdings (SMPH) is one of the largest integrated property developers in Southeast Asia. It works to develop innovative and sustainable cities and is also the company responsible for bringing the Philippines its first IKEA store. The store was originally set to open in 2020, but plans were pushed back due to “construction adjustments,” and the store is now scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of this year.

According to IKEA Philippines’ store manager Georg Platzer, IKEA will open its online e-commerce platform before opening its physical store at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City. The physical store will occupy 65,000 square meters, making it the world’s biggest IKEA store.
