On 1 September 2016 Volvo Car Malaysia and Federal Auto Holdings Berhad launched their new showroom in Menara MBMR, replacing the iconic Volvo showroom located along Federal Highway. This showroom is the first to implement the new Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) – an important next step in Volvo’s journey as a true luxury marque.

Costing more than RM10 Million and spanning an area of 16,685 sq. feet, the showroom keeps to global standards and features the latest product and service offers by Volvo. As part of the Volvo Retail Experience, it also provides an improved aftersales service experience, giving more importance to service customers than ever before.

“The Volvo Retail Experience is just one of our strategies to strengthen and close the gap with our competitors. As we continue to introduce products that are well-designed, luxurious and safe, we strive to extend the same feeling to our customers from the very moment they enter our retail environment. With this new showroom, we look forward to continually engage with our fans and win over new ones,” said, Lennart Stegland, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia.

The new showroom is only a stone’s throw away from the previous building which is now converted into a service area.

“The former showroom was an icon and a landmark in its own right but the establishment of this new Volvo Retail Experience showroom is necessary to keep the brand competitive. Albeit, it will still maintain the same sense of familiarity that our customers are accustomed to,” said Encik Aqil Ahmad Azizuddin, Chairman of Federal Auto Holdings Berhad.

Inspired by Scandinavia, the new showroom features a lot of natural light that streams through from the large windows lending warmth and creating a comfortable atmosphere for customers. The showroom was specially conceptualised as a ‘living room,’ featuring chic Scandinavian-designed furniture, free Wi-Fi and delectable Swedish cakes and coffee.

The new ‘living room’ concept takes up 40% of the showroom, while 60% is dedicated to a contrasting ‘street’ displaying area showcasing Volvo’s new car range.

The concept was designed so that customers can relax in a cosy ambience while waiting for their Volvo vehicles to be serviced.
