NordCham Vietnam chairman Thue Quist Thomasen has called for more predictable investment approvals and better access to green electricity in Vietnam.

Speaking at the Nordic–Vietnam Business Forum on 29 October, Thomasen said tariff reductions alone would not secure lasting investment. Companies also need reliable licensing procedures and access to direct power purchase agreements, Vietnam News Agency reported.

More than 100 business, government and diplomatic representatives attended the forum in Ho Chi Minh City.

City promises faster procedures

Bui Minh Thanh, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, pledged faster administrative procedures and greater transparency.

He identified clean energy, sustainable transport, circular economy and high-tech industry among the city’s priorities for Nordic investment.

ScandAsia previously reported on preparations for the summit, which NordCham organised with the embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
