Hanoi Pride 2025 officially opened on 7 September under the theme “From Longing to Belonging.” The festival runs until 27 September and features a series of events celebrating diversity, resilience and solidarity within Vietnam’s LGBTQIA+ community.

The embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden have jointly expressed their support for Hanoi Pride. In a statement, the Nordic missions underlined their commitment to standing together with local LGBTQIA+ organizations, amplifying voices from the community, and highlighting the importance of equality and inclusion.

Norwegian Ambassador Hilde Solbakken joined colleagues from other Nordic countries and diplomatic missions at the opening ceremony in Hanoi. On this occasion, the Embassy of Norway received a Certificate of Appreciation from the organizers, acknowledging Norway’s long-standing support for Hanoi Pride and its continued engagement in promoting diversity and human rights.

Hanoi Pride, which has grown steadily since its inception, brings together activists, cultural groups, and international partners to foster dialogue and visibility for LGBTQIA+ people in Vietnam. The Nordic embassies emphasized that their participation is part of a broader effort to strengthen cooperation on human rights and social inclusion.
