Two major Norwegian seafood companies, Mowi and Lerøy Seafood, met with representatives of the Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok during the Makro HoReCa 2026 trade fair, as Norway continues to strengthen its presence in Thailand’s food market.

The embassy visited the event on 29 October, where it met representatives of the two Norwegian companies and discussed seafood trade and opportunities for further cooperation between Norway and Thailand.

Mowi and Lerøy are among Norway’s major seafood producers and exporters, supplying products to international markets, including Thailand.

Connecting Norwegian suppliers with Thai businesses
Makro HoReCa is an annual trade fair focusing on Thailand’s hotel, restaurant and catering industry. Its 19th edition takes place from 29 October to 1 November at the IMPACT Exhibition Centre in Bangkok.

The event brings together food suppliers, hospitality businesses and other industry participants, providing a platform for commercial networking and the exchange of ideas.

For Norwegian seafood exporters, Thailand represents an opportunity to reach businesses in the hospitality and restaurant sectors, where imported seafood is an important part of the product offering.

Norway is one of the world’s leading seafood-producing nations, with salmon among its most prominent international exports.

The Norwegian Embassy said its discussions with Mowi and Lerøy focused on seafood, trade and opportunities to develop further cooperation between the two countries.
