Vietnam’s PM meets Ericsson CEO to strengthen digital partnership

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Ericsson CEO Borje Ekholm in Hanoi on November 25 to discuss advancing Vietnam’s digital transformation.

Chinh highlighted Vietnam’s strategic focus on digital infrastructure, AI, cloud computing, and next-generation networks like 5G and 6G. He encouraged Ericsson to deepen cooperation through research and development initiatives, technology transfer, and training local talent, positioning Vietnam as a leader in the global digital economy.

Ekholm praised Vietnam’s progress in digital development, noting Ericsson’s longstanding partnership with the country since 1993. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Vietnam’s 5G rollout and developing an research and development hub, leveraging the nation’s skilled workforce.

Both sides emphasized their shared goal of accelerating Vietnam’s digital economy through innovative technologies and strategic collaboration. The PM underscored Vietnam’s readiness for long-term cooperation with Ericsson to build a modern, digitally connected future.
