We can learn how they teach and train football players, tactics, football skill in world class level, as well as how to utilize sport sciences to strengthen the team. Additionally, the Linkoping FC will kindly teach our children in Clinic Football on 26 Jan 2014, so this will be a wonderful experience for them to learn different tactics from professional. I’d like to thank Saab very much, the good relationship between Saab and RTAF made this game possible. This game is not only a magnificent gift to Thai people, but also a gift to consolidate a tight bond of friendship between Sweden and Thailand.”

In addition to the training camp and the international match, LFC will also have a session with Thai youth after the match.

“We are pleased that we have been able to partner the Royal Thai Air Force to organize this match against Thailand Women’s National Football team. The game between the Swedish and Thai team will further strengthen the historical and cultural relationship between Sweden and Thailand. The game will showcase the talent and skills of sportswomen from both countries. The game will send out a message to people of both countries that Sweden and Thailand have common passion for football which acts as a bridge for stronger people-to-people relationships,” says Kaj Rosander, Director, Gripen Program, Thailand.

According to LFC Club Director Anders Mäki , “This is a great opportunity for our team to come together properly for the season , practice and play well in a good climate and simultaneously promote women’s football in Thailand. We expect a good match. Thailand has a good chance of qualifying for the World Championships in Canada as one of the five Asian teams. From our point of view, there is the additional motivation for a good camp and a good practice for the Swedish Cup and Damallsvenskan starting in March and April.”

Thailand’s women’s national has now qualified for the Asian Cup 2014 being played in Vietnam. There they have the chance to qualify for the World Championships in Canada in 2015. The top five countries of eight go to the World Cup and Thailand are most likely to play a crucial match on the fifth place as South Korea and China in the same group deemed too difficult. Competitors of the last World Cup spot will be home nation Vietnam, Jordan, Myanmar. Thailand has not previously participated in any World Cup finals.
