Nordic diplomats and Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Phuangketkeow have discussed closer cooperation on the green transition during a working dinner in Bangkok.
The dinner was held at the Finnish Residence on 31 July and brought together the ambassadors of Finland, Norway and Sweden, along with Denmark’s Deputy Head of Mission Martin Hybel Havelykke.
According to the Danish Embassy, the meeting reaffirmed the close and cooperative ties between Thailand and the Nordic countries and provided an opportunity to exchange views on regional and global developments.
A key topic was the green transition, which was highlighted as a promising area for closer cooperation between the Nordic countries and Thailand. The discussion was described as an opportunity to bring together Nordic experience with Thailand’s ambitions in the field.
The Nordic representatives also stressed the importance of maintaining close and direct contact between leaders as a way of strengthening the relationship.
The four Nordic countries said they remain committed to deepening their partnership with Thailand in the years ahead.
