
The 2025 CEOWORLD Health Care Index places Taiwan first in the world, highlighting Asia’s growing leadership in healthcare, while several Nordic countries also secure top positions.
Taiwan ranks highest with a score of 78.72, praised for its universal single-payer system and digital integration. South Korea follows in second place, supported by advanced medical infrastructure and government technology initiatives.
Sweden ranks fifth globally, recognised for balancing universal coverage with public-private partnerships. Norway takes the ninth spot, while Finland (19th), Denmark (24th) and Iceland (36th) also feature in the top 40.
According to the index, Asia’s rise is evident, with Taiwan, South Korea, Japan (13th) and Singapore (14th) all ranked within the top 15. Europe remains a stronghold, with Ireland, the Netherlands and Germany joining Sweden and Norway among the global top 10.
The report underlines that resilient healthcare systems are increasingly seen as strategic assets for economic competitiveness, labour productivity and investment stability.
