This year Volvo will start selling its Chinese produced S60L in USA. It is an expansion plan in North America that demands more Volvo cars in America.
1.500 S60L cars produced in Volvo’s Chengdu factory will find their way to USA this year. Swedish newspaper Expressen calls this a sensation, since Volvo is the first manufacturer to build their cars in China and then ship them to USA.
Expressen names Volvo’s new large sedan S90 as another possible model to be assembled in China and shipped to the American marked. Volvo’s strategy aims to sell 100.000 cars yearly in North America, last year they sold 56.000.
