in recognition of the need of a mechanism that would ensure Indonesian NGOs a
flexible and rapid source of funding to cope with emergency situations.
The ERF
covers any region throughout

capacity building for improved emergency preparedness.
Sweden supported the ERF
already in 2007 with 1,1 MUSD and these funds have been used to finance 13
projects in several regions, mitigating the effects of disasters by meeting
short-term humanitarian needs such as food, shelter, water and sanitation,
nutrition and health services.
