Danish investment firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Thailand’s Global Power Synergy are reportedly considering selling their offshore wind farm project in Taiwan.
According to Bloomberg, the companies are discussing a possible sale of the Changfang and Xidao offshore wind venture with financial advisers. Another option under consideration is the sale of a stake in the project.
The Changfang and Xidao project has an installed capacity of about 600MW and could reportedly be valued at several billion dollars including debt.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners holds a majority stake in the project, while Bangkok-based Global Power Synergy owns about 25 percent. The Thai company is controlled by state energy giant PTT.
Both companies said no final decisions have been made. Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners declined to comment, while Global Power Synergy said it regularly reviews its investment portfolio.
The Danish fund has expanded its global energy investments in recent years, including an agreement earlier this year to acquire Orsted’s European onshore business for 1.4 billion euros.
