A Norwegian man suspected of financing a boxing camp in Rayong that was allegedly used to traffic underage boys for sex has died of natural causes earlier this year, before the investigation began, Thai Police says according to The Star.
The man, known under the pseudonym Mr Kim and believed to be around 80 years old, was wanted because victims described him as a central figure who paid for their living expenses in exchange for sexual services.
On July 7, officers raided the camp and arrested its 28‑year‑old manager, who admitted to trafficking minors and arranging sexual encounters. Interviews with boys indicated that Kim had a female secretary who helped organize sexual services, including oral sex, for vulnerable youths.
Police stress that the probe will continue to identify other suspects. Under Thai law, human trafficking convictions carry sentences of up to 15 years per offence, with harsher penalties when minors are involved.
