Thai police have arrested the manager of a Muay Thai camp in Rayong for trafficking underage boys for sex, while searching for a Norwegian sponsor accused of financing the camp and abusing children, South China Morning Post reports.

The 28‑year‑old manager, Narubet Nilthai, was detained in a sting operation in Chon Buri after delivering three boys aged 13, 15 and 16 to undercover officers posing as clients. He admitted to arranging sexual services for minors in exchange for payment.

During Tuesday’s raid, 12 children were taken into protection. Police said the camp trained around 30 Thai and foreign boxers aged 18 to 35, but some younger fighters were allegedly procured for male clients.

“The manager claimed the children involved had behavioural problems and came from broken families,” the police statement said.

Investigators are now seeking a Norwegian national, identified as “Mr Kim,” who allegedly sponsored the camp and provided amenities in exchange for sexual services.

Several children told police they were abused by him in private rooms, with some incidents photographed or recorded. Victims said he paid between 500 and 5,000 baht, and gave gifts such as mobile phones, school uniforms and financial aid for families.

Police are also searching for Mr Kim’s secretary. Under Thai law, human trafficking involving minors carries penalties of up to 15 years in prison per offence, with harsher sentences when children are exploited.
