Danish design is trendy in Bangkok

Bangkok’s cafe scene continues to evolve, embracing global influences that shape both ambiance and menu offerings. Recently, a new fascination with Danish aesthetics has emerged, with two cafes—Mansion in Copenh and Someday in Copenhagen—bringing Nordic-inspired interiors and flavors to the city. Whether through mid-century modern design elements or the subtle integration of Scandinavian flavors, these cafes offer a taste of Denmark in the heart of Thailand.

Mansion in Copenh

“Mansion in Copenh” has newly opened in Nak Niwat 37 road in Lat Phrao, Bangkok, Thailand and is currently on its soft opening. The place highlights the unique style of mid-century designed mansions in Copenhagen that commonly have sloped ceilings and are decorated with minimal lamps, wooden materials, and colorful furniture.

The cafe creates such a homey space with its bold paints, retro graphics, and has a music corner filled with a variety of vinyl that customers can choose to listen to while enjoying their time indoors or on the rooftop zones.

Besides adopting the Nordic interior charms, the place also creatively includes the Danish language in their menus.

It offers coffee and non-coffee drinks such as “Mansion Signature” (Peach & Yuzu with Espresso shot), “Iskaffe Med Karamel” (Iced Caramel Macchiato), “Varm Mokka” (Hot Mocha), “Kopen Cheese Milk Tea” etc., as well as some pastries.

Mansion in Copenh invites everyone to step into their space for a cup of coffee, chilling, and getting a glimpse of a sunset view which was claimed to be exceptional from their rooftop seats.

It opens from 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM on weekdays, 8.30 AM to 6.30 PM on weekends, and closes every Wednesday.

Someday in Copenhagen

“Someday in Copenhagen” is ready to serve all customers drinks and pastries this summer in Sathorn district, Bangkok, Thailand. First opened in 2024, the cafe will soon mark its 1st anniversary in March 2025.

The place is run and owned by Dennis Soo Rahr, a former head barista at Fuglen Oslo, a coffee & cocktail bar in Norway.

He is a co-owner of Enghave Kaffe in Copenhagen and is currently in Bangkok until the end of June, brewing the best coffee for everyone.

“Someday in Copenhagen is a project between long-term friends. The fusion between the Scandinavian living, subtle taste with a Thai twist for innovation of new flavour,” he shared on Instagram.

The cafe was built in the minimal Scandinavian design, creating the simple and classic vibes that many Thais have profoundly been drawn to nowadays.

It offers coffee with some specialty coffee bean choices, non-coffee drinks and Nordic pastries. According to Google reviews, “Honeycomb Latte” and “Flat Croissant” are the must-try orders.

Even though it highlights its Grab & Go service due to a compact space, the cafe still has room for dine-in if one likes to escape from the heat and unwind.

The shop opens daily, from 8.00 AM – 4.00 PM on weekdays and 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM on weekends.
