Danish and Indonesian authorities held a four-day workshop on feed safety in Indonesia’s dairy sector.
The workshop took place from 18 to 21 August. Danish experts met with representatives from the Directorate of Feed under Indonesia’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The participants compared the feed-control systems in Denmark and Indonesia. They also explored ways to improve Indonesia’s inspections and regulations.
The talks focused on risk-based controls and traceability throughout the feed supply chain. Participants also discussed the responsibilities of companies that produce and handle animal feed.
In addition, they reviewed Indonesia’s Good Feed Manufacturing Practices, known as CPPB.
Safe and high-quality animal feed plays an important role in food safety. Poor feed controls can affect both the safety and quality of dairy products.
Denmark and Indonesia organised the workshop through their Strategic Sector Cooperation. The government partnership began in 2019 and focuses on Indonesia’s organic dairy sector.
According to the Danish Embassy, the workshop will support the next phase of the cooperation.
The two countries have previously worked together on regulations, farmer training and an organic dairy transformation roadmap.
