Finnish telecom company Nokia plans to close almost all of its sites in mainland China by the end of 2026, according to Reuters, citing the South China Morning Post.
A Nokia spokesperson confirmed that the company is reducing its operations in China as part of an effort to align its business with its global operating model. The company said its business in China has declined steadily in recent years.
Nokia has not yet disclosed the exact number of sites or employees affected.
The move follows a restructuring of Nokia’s China operations that was announced earlier this year. In its latest financial report, Nokia said it expects to complete the integration of its China operations within two years, with €350 million in integration charges expected by the end of 2026.
Nokia remains active elsewhere in Asia-Pacific, with offices and operations including Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea.
The company said its overall 2026 outlook remains unchanged, with comparable operating profit expected to be between €2.1 billion and €2.6 billion.
