Danish Companies Visit Vietnam in Search of Business Partners

Yesterday October 6 2008 was the first day of a visit of about 20 Danish companies in Vietnam. The Embassy of Denmark in Hanoi is sponsoring the visit, which objective is to match Danish and Vietnamese companies in the sectors of environmentally and energy-friendly building materials, printing and packaging.
The conference room at Hanoi Hilton Hotel was yesterday the location of a half day seminar on Danish-Vietnamese partnerships in the sectors of environmentally friendly building materials, printing and packaging.
About 20 Danish companies have accepted the invitation from the Embassy of Denmark in Hanoi in order to explore their opportunities in Vietnam. The visit is a part of Danida’s Business to Business programme (B2B), where Danish companies can receive support in order to go into partnerships with companies in selected developing countries – among these Vietnam.
This year the focus of the B2B programme is to support partnerships in the sectors of environmentally and energy-friendly building materials, printing and packaging.
“I hope you’ll use this week to find a good partner and hopefully the right one for you. That is the whole purpose,” the Danish Ambassador in Hanoi H.E. Mr. Peter Lysholt Hansen said in his opening speech.
In the next week there will be approximately 130 individual meeting organized for the Danish companies with potential partners in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other provinces. The objective of the meetings is for Danish companies to explore the business opportunities in Vietnam and to match Danish with Vietnamese companies who can go into commercially viable joint venture partnerships and transfer know-how and technology to Vietnam. Each partnership committing to a joint venture establishment can be supported by the B2B programme up to USD 1,000,000.
