Millicom International Cellular S A, a Swedish controlled cellular operator company, reports a 45 percent increase in Asian subscribers since year end 2002 up to year end 2003.
Its Vietnam operations, which performed very well the past year, reached over 1 million subscribers during 2003.
Millicom does also own operators in Cambodia and Laos.
The company is controlled by the Swedish finance family Stenbeck and was a pioneer among Swedish investors in Vietnam during the early 1990’s.
