Danish Pandora Ready to Capture China

The Danish thai jewelry group Pandora has solved the problems with the rights to use its name in China and is now ready to capture the Chinese market, Berlingske Business wrote.
Pandora has had some difficulties with the Chinese trademark authorities, but these have now been solved.

»We have bought the trademark af the owner in question. So now we own the name of Pandora written in Chinese graphic characaters,« said Thomas Ryge Mikkelsen, Chief Development Officer at Pandora.

And several observers of the Chinese market confirm that it is extremely important to be in control of the rights.

»As a new business in China it is crucial to secure the trademark rights very fast. There are many people in China who are ready to take advantage of the situation, if you are not in control of the rights,« said Lone Prehn, partner in the consultancy firm Zacco.

Now that the problem with the rights has been solved Pandora is ready to focus on the Chinese market. The group now plans to open shops in 60 Chinese cities within the next five years.
