Danish ambassador visits Malaysian university

 

Jesper Vahr has been Ambassador of Denmark to Malaysia since November 2017

The Danish Ambassador in Malaysia, Jesper Vahr, recently visited Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, writes the Borneo Post.  Swinburne Sarawak is located in Kuching on the Malaysian part of Borneo. During the Ambassador’s visit, he highlighted that Swinburne Sarawak records the most consistent and highest number of Danish students yearly among Malaysian universities.

In 2016, 31 Danish students were enrolled at the university, and last year the number was 46. At the moment, 15 students study at the university and another 35 students are expected to start in August.

The upcoming students from Denmark are undergraduate and postgraduate students from Copenhagen Business School, Aarhus University, Aalborg University, University of Southern Denmark, Via University and University of Copenhagen.

Jesper Vahr was welcomed by deputy vice-chancellor and chief executive officer Prof John Wilson. In Wilson’s welcome speak he pointed out that Denmark was the second country to send students to Swinburne Sarawak, when the University started to enroll international students.

Swinburne Sarawak is the highest-ranking international university on Borneo based on the Asia-Pacific University Ranking 2017 by Times Higher Education. It is also the only international branch campus of Swinburne University of Technology Australia.
