The cables, connecting Sweden to Lithuania and Finland to Germany, remain broken.

After four weeks of surveillance, Danish naval ships have left the Kattegat area, where the Chinese vessel Yi Peng 3 remains anchored, BT reports.

The departure was confirmed through vessel tracking data from Vesselfinder.com. Danish ships, including Hvidbjørnen and smaller patrol boats, have monitored the Chinese ship since November 19, following suspicions it was linked to underwater cable damage in the Baltic Sea on November 17.

Although Sweden’s coast guard withdrew from the area around December 10, a German coast guard ship, Neustadt, continues to monitor the vessel.

Yi Peng 3, which departed from Russia shortly before the cable damage, has been accused by German authorities of sabotage. Denmark is reportedly negotiating with China for permission to inspect the ship.

The cables, connecting Sweden to Lithuania and Finland to Germany, remain broken. While Yi Peng 3 is anchored in Denmark’s economic zone, it lies outside territorial waters, leaving legal authority to China.
