In the Philippines, Danish technology is now helping reshape an industry long challenged by delays and inefficiencies, Phil Star reports.

Construction firm Magis X has introduced robotic building systems powered by Danish COBOD, bringing 3D concrete printing into the local housing sector with the ambition to improve how homes are built and delivered.

For co-founder Paolo Periquet, the shift is about fixing a broken process.

“We realized the real problem wasn’t effort. It was the system – the delays, the miscommunication, the duplicity, the rework. Magis X is a response to that,” he said to the paper.

The technology allows structural walls to be printed layer by layer using robotic concrete extrusion, guided by digital building models. This creates greater consistency and helps reduce errors during construction.

At the same time, the company stresses that human expertise remains central.

“The goal is not to replace craftsmanship, but to augment it,” said co-founder Gino Cariño.

“By integrating robotics and industrial-grade systems, we can expand design possibilities, improve reliability, and elevate performance.”

The technology is already widely used internationally. In countries across Europe, the United States and Asia, entire communities have been built using similar systems.
