A deadly fire swept through The Ember Hotel near Bangkok’s Khao San Road late Friday, leaving at least three foreign tourists feared dead and others injured.

The blaze broke out on the fifth floor around 9:00 p.m., sparking panic in the busy backpacker district. Firefighters rescued 40 guests trapped on the rooftop bar using cherry pickers, while two unconscious tourists were found inside—a woman, pronounced dead at the scene, and a man, now hospitalized.

Thai media reports suggest three foreign tourists may have died from smoke inhalation. The fire was controlled by 10:30 p.m., but its cause remains under investigation.

Khao San Road is a major tourist hub, known for its vibrant nightlife and budget accommodations.
