Kahoot! opens APAC hub in Singapore

Norwegian edtech company Kahoot! has launched a new regional hub in Singapore to strengthen its presence and operations across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

The announcement was made on Monday during a media event in Singapore, where Kahoot! unveiled its APAC strategic roadmap and demonstrated how its platform is used in classrooms and workplaces. The new hub is set to support the company’s rapid expansion in the region, with a focus on both education and corporate training sectors.

“We’re excited to establish our APAC hub in Singapore—an ideal gateway for our regional growth,”
said Ahteram Uddin, Vice President Commercial, APAC at Kahoot!.

“This marks a key step in expanding the reach of our solutions to more educators, students, and professionals across APAC,” he added.

Kahoot! supports schools and universities through Kahoot! EDU and businesses with Kahoot! 360, delivering interactive learning experiences that are accessible, scalable, and effective. The company is also investing in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered features such as an AI question generator and smart note scanning to enhance the platform’s impact.

Over the past 12 months, the APAC region has seen more than 250 million non-unique participants on the Kahoot! platform. In Southeast Asia and Japan alone, over 750,000 teachers are actively using Kahoot! in classrooms.

The company attributes its growth in the region to strong localization efforts, including support for languages such as Thai, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. It has also partnered with major content brands like Disney, Sanrio, TED, Nickelodeon, and Microsoft to broaden its appeal.

Kahoot! was launched in 2013 and has since hosted over 12 billion non-unique participants in more than 200 countries. The Kahoot! Group includes other edtech brands such as Clever, DragonBox, Poio, Drops, Actimo, Motimate, and Whiteboard.fi, and maintains offices in the US, UK, France, Finland, Estonia, Japan, Denmark, Spain, Poland, and now Singapore.

“Singapore is one of the most forward-looking markets in the world when it comes to lifelong learning and digital transformation,”
Uddin said, pointing to national initiatives like SkillsFuture as an ideal match for Kahoot!’s mission.
