A Swedish sustainable tourism company is exploring plans for a net-zero luxury eco-resort and wellness retreat in central Vietnam.

Representatives from Stockholm-based Peak Education met with the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) on 11 June to discuss a proposed resort project in Kon Plong commune, Quang Ngai province.

Led by CEO Sikander Khan, Peak Education focuses on sustainable tourism, carbon reduction, renewable energy, and net-zero initiatives.

The proposed development would combine luxury accommodation with wellness and healthcare facilities while operating entirely on renewable energy. The project would also incorporate circular economy principles, sustainable waste management, and designs intended to blend with local culture and natural surroundings.

VNAT Deputy Director General Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai said the project aligns with Vietnam’s efforts to promote green tourism, ecotourism, wellness tourism, and sustainable development. She added that detailed plans and documentation would be required before authorities could assess the project’s viability.

Peak Education hopes the development could serve as a model for future net-zero luxury resorts in Vietnam.
