Swedish defence company Saab has delivered the composite superstructure – the upper section that houses the bridge, radar and other key systems – for Singapore’s new next-generation warship, Asian Military Review reported.

The structure will now be installed on the first of the Republic of Singapore Navy’s new Victory-class Multi-Role Combat Vessels, which are being built by ST Engineering.

The ships were designed by Saab in cooperation with ST Engineering and Denmark’s Odense Maritime Technology.

The new vessels will be the largest and most advanced warships ever operated by the Singapore Navy. They are designed to work alongside drones and other unmanned systems and will play a central role in Singapore’s future naval operations.

Construction of the second vessel is already underway.
