Fined for Bringing Crocodile Heads into Denmark

A Dane was fined 1000 DKK for violating the Washington Convention by bringing two crocodile heads from Thailand to Denmark. It was The Copenhagen City Court, who meted out the penalty, tells the newsagency, Ritzau.

The Dane violated the Washington when he in September 2010 tried to bring two heads of Siamese crocodiles into Denmark via Copenhagen Airport in Kastrup.

The original owners of the heads were two now, assumably, deceased Siamese crocodiles, Crocodylus siamensis.
The two heads were part of the Dane´s luggage when he arrived in Denmark from Thailand. But he had no import permit.
