Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas has secured new orders in Taiwan and China at the turn of the new year.
Vestas has secured a 18 MW order in Taiwan with local Engineering Procurement and Construction provider Star Energy Corporation for two of their latest wind energy projects.
The wind park will be located in Changhua along the west coast of Taiwan, which holds the largest wind energy capacity of any county, municipality or city in Taiwan. Vestas’ High Wind Operation will help increase energy production, according to Vestas.
“This is an important order for us as it signifies our return to the Taiwanese market”, said Clive Turton, President of Vestas Asia Pacific.
In China, Vestas has received a 200 MW order of 2 MW platform turbines from its long-term customer Hanas for the Fengjigou project in China’s Ningxia province.

Vestas was established in 1945 and design, manufacture, install, and service wind turbines in 79 countries. Currently, the company employees 24,300 people.
